Automotive Window Tint
There are three basic categories from which to choose, dyed films (less shiny), metal based or high performance films (more shiny, last longer), and the newest technology ceramic films. The following web pages will explain the advantages and disadvantages of each.
Dyed Films: Match factory tint. Low reflectivity. Colors: gray, charcoal, and bronze. Shading Coefficients and/or Visible Light Transmission (VLT): 50%, 40%(legal for MS), 35%,(legal for TN, AK), 15%, (legal behind driver and passenger doors of trucks, SUV's, and vans), and 5%(a.k.a. limo tint). Dyed Films are an ideal choice for matching factory tint on almost all trucks, SUV's and vans. These window films have a low reflectivity and varying shades of darkness to match the factory tinted windows. These films come with the manufacturers warranty, which Tennessee Window Tint Co. will match, as well as a customer satisfaction guarantee on the installation. These warranties are against fading cracking, bubbling, or peeling from 3 years from the date of installation, some of these films warranties may last up to as long as you own your vehicle. The unfortunate disadvantages of some of these kinds of window tint are that they tend to fade and may eventually turn purple but not during the warranty period. The dyes im the window film fade through time just like the dye in your blue jeans or like the dyes in your expensive paint job. The sun takes its toll on everything! At least its not your interior fading or your leather seats! The tint takes the damage by blocking out 99.9% of the sun's harmful UV rays which have been linked to skin cancer. Infrared waves which are felt as heat are also reduced increasing interior comfort levels. The window tint will also help reduce flying shattered glass during an accident or break in by holding the shattered glass together. These films add to the beauty of your vehicle as well as giving you the privacy and safety you deserve.
Key Benefits of dyed films: Matches Factory Tint! Looks darker or blacker than metal based films. Lower reflectivity than metal based films. Drying time is faster than that of metal based tint.
High Performance or Metal - Based Films 1% Higher reflectivity. Lifetime Warranty. Better Visibility, Improved UV and Infrared blockage. Colors: gray, silver, charcoal. Shading Coefficients: 50% 40% 35%, 15%,and 5%.
Metal - Based Films are ideal for cars that don't have any pre-existing factory tint. These films rated by VLT or visable light transmission, or th percentage of sun allowed to pass through the film. For example: 35% (legal for TN) is light enough to see all the way through the car. 15-20% is dark to the extent that you can only see a siloutte, you can tell how many people are in the vehicle but can't tell who, and 5% being the darkest is dark to the extent that you cant tell if anyone is in the vehicle or not. This type of window tint uses newer technology having superior advances in construction as well as using more durable materials. These films are slightly more reflective, lowering glass temperature while in the sun. The metal composite in these types of window films id designed to be color stable. Metal - based tint has a different adhesive system proven to last much longer than traditional films. Furthermore; these films have a thicker, more durable scratch resistant coatingsthat are far superior in almost every way to the older dyed counterpart. Providing better performance as well as better visibility by using longer lasting, more transparent adhesives. Additionally; if a window is ever broken and replaced the metal - based films are more likely to match the older tint eliminating the possibility that all of the tint will have to be replaced because it has faded through time like dyed films. These films will add to the appearance of your vehicle, worry free for many years to come. These films give you safety from flying, shattered glass in the case of an accident, reduce glare, hide your belongings, 99.9% protection from the suns harmful ultraviolet rays that cause cancer and interior damage.
Key Benefitsof High Performance Films: Privacy, Glare Reduction Higher reflectivity keeps inside cooler Window film holds the glass to the tint in case the glass shatters. Last much longer than dyed films. Keeps interior and seats from fading. 99.9% UV resistant. Commercial / Residential ... or Flat Glass Films ; Transparent Films;- Reduce utilities , glare, and 99.9% of harmful UV rays. Graphic Films - Choose from clear, and frost patterns, to compliment decor. Safety Films - protect the ones you love by making glass shatter resistant.

Tennessee Tint uses Formula One's Pinnacle Series Automotive Windiow Film.
